Linkedin App that Allows You To Share Documents With Group Members or Employers
Box.net is a leading edge provider in services that allow people to share and manage files online. The company is all over the internet landscape in terms of "cloud" file storage.
The Box.net application is a very easy to use tool that allows you to upload, manage and share compatible documents on your Linkedin pages. Some examples would be powerpoint presentations, excel charts, word documents, etc.
Why is it Helpful? - Cool Features
1. You can share any of your legal and relevant work examples for HR recruiters. Having examples of your work can open more doors for you in the job search process.
2. If you are involved in groups on the network, you may realize that many groups feature people from all over the nation/globe. Communication is simple, but if you wanted to share a document with them you would have to upload the document onto a webpage and then direct them to the document with a hyperlink. With Box.net you can upload the document(s) to a folder and allow folder access to your group members.
3. The ability to edit your files is a great feature of the application. Instead of having to make changes to the original file and then re-uploading it, the tool allows you to edit and save the documents already online. This can be helpful if you receive any tips from readers, or additional questions, you can just edit the document on the net.
4. You can manage different folders for your uploaded files. One of those folders is a "profile" folder. This is a folder that you can upload files to and they will be featured on your profile page.
5. You can create folders for a project that multiple people are working on. For example: If you are doing research on the ways in which large companies with many lines of business run their earnings meetings. You and 4 other collegues of yours are researching different companies. You can create a folder labeled - "Earnings Research" and allow your 4 other collegues working on the matter access to the folder. Now all 5 people are able to upload, edit, and share documents within the same folder.
What We Are NOT-SURE about? - Weaknesses of Box.net Linkedin App
- The only weakness of the application that I can pick out (if you call it a weakness) is that in order for you to share a folder with all your collegues that all of you can edit, THEY ALL have to have the application. Accessing and downloading the application is easy, it is the small hassle of having to direct your collegues to download the application.

Still UN-SURE Video
This is really exciting, but I'm still not sure if you can post a file to a LinkedIn Group - as defined on LinkedIn. Is this possible? Thanks Robin Wolstenholme

You cannot directly post a file to a Linkedin group. In order to share a file among group members there are 2 ways. If you want the members to be able to edit the file then you have to become friends with the members and each of them must have the box.net application. If you don't wish to have the file edited, using a third party app like Scribd will allow you to upload files and share the link within the group pages. These are the two strategies that I use. I will reach out to Linkedin this week and see if there are any plans in the near future for direct file uploading and sharing.

This an interesting approach. It is common to take care of SEO from the individuality of ones' blog or web while leaving the incredible opportunity social media offers aside. This post clears up the way to better understand the way both activities interact and the steps to be taken to get the best results in your way to success.

But how do you upload a file to a group on LinkedIn? When I try to upload a file, it is uploaded to my profile, not to a group!
